BTAccess v3.0 for Windows Mobile 5 Now Available!

Bug Fix- BTAccess for WM5  Several customers recently brought to our attention that the WM5 version does not correctly return the Bluetooth Address of the local device (using the BtStack.GetLocalBtAddr method). We have corrected this problem in both the registered versions and the Evaluation version.

BTAccess v3.0 Now Available!  After a few battles with Microsoft tools we finally have a version of BTAccess for the latest crop of PDAs which run Windows Mobile 5, .Net Compact Framework v2.0, and the Widcomm Bluetooth stack v1.6 and later.  Click here for more details

We now also include source code for a sample PortTest utility written in C#.  PortTest lets you quickly connect to the bluetooth stack, connect over SPP to the first bluetooth device you find, and see any data being received from that connected device.  The source code demonstrates not only an effective way to partition the bluetooth logic from your main application, it also shows a good technique for recovering from a powercycle to automatically reconnect to your device.

GPSAccess has also been updated to work with the new BTAccess v3.0 for Windows Mobile 5.

New Features in BTAccess .Net:

1. RecvFile Events: now you can be notified whenever your device has received a file from another bluetooth device.  Great for implementing a file-based messaging system!

2. COM Port Info: now when you receive confirmation that your SPPConnect, DUNConnect, or LAPConnect operation has completed you also get the name of the COM port you should use (like "COM8:" or "BTC1:").  

3. C-Style API: one side effect of creating the .Net extensions to BTAccess.dll is that we created a new "flat" C-style API which can be called directly by older C-style non-MFC applications.  If you want to write your app in C or C++ and don't want the overhead of using .Net or MFC, now you can!

The new .Net support is now a part of the standard BTAccess Mobile package, at no extra charge.  This upgrade is also FREE TO ALL REGISTERED USERS (just contact us).
